Fall is my absolute favorite season and Halloween is my favorite holiday. Tonight we had a blast pulling out the pumpkin "brains" and carving/decorating our treasured pumpkins. Now my pumpkin seeds are toasting in the oven and smell delicious! Here's my favorite recipe along with some other options.
Directions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
- Rinse seeds.
- Toss seeds in a bowl with 1-2T oil or melted butter and a pinch of sea salt.
- Spread the seeds in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for about 45 minutes or until golden brown; stir occasionally.
Before cooking, you can also mix in a bit of any combination of the following for a fun treat:
- brown sugar
- cinnamon
- taco seasoning
- hot pepper powder or cayenne pepper
- garlic salt or powder
- onion salts or powder
- cacoa powder
- ginger
- pumpkin pie spice
- worcestershire
How do you like your pumpkin seeds?
